Northern Arizona women's tennis junior Hanneke Lodewijks earned the Big Sky Conference Athlete of the Week after she went undefeated in singles and doubles against Montana State and Northern Colorado.

Lodewijks' first matchup of the weekend came against Montana State in which she paired with freshman Ellie Millard to clinch the doubles point 6-1 at the No. 1 position. She then went on to defeat MSU's Annie Walker 6-1, 6-0 as the first to finish in singles.

On Sunday, Northern Arizona hosted Northern Colorado for another 6-1 win with Lodewijks clinching doubles again with Millard. She then defeated Rafa Mora 4-6, 6-3, 10-6, winning in a comeback tiebreak to help the Lumberjacks remain undefeated in conference action.

With these two victories, Northern Arizona clinched a spot in the Big Sky Conference tournament at the end of April in Phoenix.

The Lumberjacks are 13-3 overall and 8-0 in the Big Sky.

This past weekend, Lodewijks increased her singles record to 13-3 overall, 7-1 in the Big Sky while picking up her third straight singles victory. In doubles, Lodewijks moved to 13-2 overall and 7-0 in the Big Sky, notching her 10th consecutive win.

Lodewijks and the Lumberjacks will return to action to compete in a three-match week on the road against Utah State, Idaho State and Weber State starting April 6.

The Northern Arizona swimming and diving team placed 13 athletes on the 2018 Winter Academic All-WAC honoree list announced by the Western Athletic Conference on Wednesday.

Five Lumberjack seniors -- Claire Hammond, Allison Mann, Audrey Mann, Kimmy Richter and Alina Staffeldt -- headlined the honorees with each receiving their fourth Academic All-WAC award.

The WAC honors student-athletes who hold at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests. An athlete is only eligible after completing at least one full academic year at their institution. NAU's freshmen will be eligible at the end of the spring semester.

In January, the Lumberjacks swimming and diving team received the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Award following the fall 2017 semester. As a team, the Lumberjacks had an overall fall GPA of 3.46.

In addition to the five mentioned above, NAU's remaining list of 2018 Academic All-WAC honorees announced on Wednesday is: Allison Baldwin, Kate Bier, Alice Hick, Tatiana Kurach, Logan Neal, Andrea Schmidt, Erin Spielman and Sarah Takach.
