A total of 35 Northern Arizona University student-athletes were named to the Big Sky Spring All-Academic team, announced by the conference office on Wednesday. The Spring All-Academic team recognized Lumberjacks from the men's and women's outdoor track and field, men's and women's tennis and golf programs.

To be eligible for Big Sky All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: Participated in at least half of the team's competitions or for track and field competed at the Big Sky Championships; achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.

The women's outdoor track and field team led the way with 14 All-Academic award recipients, with their men's counterparts receiving 11 awards. The golf team placed five student-athletes on the list, while the women's tennis team had three All-Academic selections. A pair of men's tennis student-athletes rounded out NAU's honorees.

With the announcement of the Big Sky Spring All-Academic team, NAU finished the 2016-17 academic year with a total of 123 all-academic awards between the Big Sky and Western Athletic Conference.
