The Flagstaff Eagles girls volleyball team took yet another sweep Wednesday night, this time a 25-13, 25-9, 25-12 win over the Lee Williams Volunteers in Kingman.

No. 4 Flagstaff improves to 14-1 overall and is still undefeated in the Grand Canyon Region at 9-0 -- continuing its dominance of the region.

Everyone played for the Eagles against the Volunteers. The 4A Conference team was led by a five-kill showing by Gracelyn Nez, who added eight digs.

Hutton Hagerman continued her strong back-line play with 23 digs for the Eagles, adding to her team lead in digs. She also had three kills in the sweep.

Devynn Hatathlie and Brooklyn Quick split setting duties with eight and seven assists respectively.

The sweep continues Flagstaff's run of shutting out region opponents, which now stands at nine straight contests. It has been about two weeks since the Eagles last dropped a set to non-region foe Deer Valley.

Next up for Flagstaff is a home region match against No. 13 Bradshaw Mountain on Tuesday. The match is set to start at 6 p.m.


The Northland Prep volleyball team was swept Wednesday night on the road at against an out-of-conference opponent.

The 2A Spartans fell 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 to 3A Page. With the win, Page improved to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in region play.

It is the second straight sweep the Spartans have had since beating No. 5 Scottsdale Prep in five sets last week. The Spartans dropped to 8-6 overall, remaining at 4-4 in region play.

Northland Prep will face region foe No. 3 Glendale Prep (11-1, 8-1 Central Region) on Tuesday. The match is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
