Surrounded by family, coaches and administration, Coconino High School’s Ty Furr on Thursday at Coconino signed his letter of intent to play football at Northern Arizona.
Furr, who helped his team to a turn-around season as senior, says being a Lumberjack has been a goal and dream of his. He also says that he is appreciative of Lumberjacks defensive coordinator Jerry Partridge reaching out to him after hearing good things about him from Jimmy Beal and other coaches with the program. Furr is a preferred walk-on expected to play defensive back and special teams, and he is also the recipient of the Lumberjack Scholarship, an academic scholarship. A quarterback while with the Panthers, Furr is set to graduate high school with a 3.6 GPA, clearing the 3.5 needed for the Lumberjack Scholarship.
