Northern Arizona University’s track and field team will send three athletes to compete at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championship Final this week, which will take place on the campus of the University of Oregon beginning today and concluding Saturday.

Caleb Hoover will be the lone distance runner to compete for NAU in Oregon. Hoover is slated to race in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase. The junior is coming off a season-best performance of 8:47.09 at the NCAA West Prelim. Hoover has the 19th best seed time in the field and has a career best of 8:44.99 in the event.

The men’s 3,000m run prelim is scheduled for Thursday at 5:35 p.m.

Deante Kemper will represent the jumps unit as he makes his third consecutive trip to the NCAA Final in the men’s high jump. The junior advanced to the final after clearing a best of 7-01 (2.16m) at the NCAA West Prelim. Kemper has a best of 7-3.75 (2.23) in the event.

The men’s high jump is scheduled for Friday at 3:20 p.m.

Lauren Stuart will be looking to conclude an already decorated career at NAU on a high note.

Stuart is scheduled to represent the Lumberjack women in the hammer throw after throwing a best of 201-0 (61.27m) at the NCAA West Prelim to advance to the final.

The senior’s career best is a NAU school record 211-9 (64.55m).

The women’s hammer throw is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
