Flagstaff's reigning cross country champion added another gold performance to her varsity running career on Saturday in Scottsdale.
Hana Hall won the girls 3,200-meter race at the Husky Invitational at Horizon High School, crossing the finish line with a time of 10:56.10. She just missed the distance sweep, coming in as the runner-up in the 1600m in 5:07.19. Both times were PRs.
Anna Harmon ran a 1600m time of 5:37.86 for seventh for the Eagles, whose girls side took seventh as a team at the invite. Harmon also had a 10th-place finish in the 800m in 2:34.63.
Riley Human led the Flagstaff boys in the 1600m for a bronze performance, taking third in 4:29.41, with teammates Gabrial Harju finishing sixth and Nate Milton 12th. Matthew Stalker added a bronze for the Eagles boys on a 16.34 time in the 110m hurdles. Stalker was ninth in the 300m hurdles.
In the 3200 for the FHS boys, Max Davis added a third-place finish with a PR time of 9:56.19
The Flagstaff boys were 14th as team in the standings. Alan Hagerman had a ninth-place finish in the 800m for the crew in 2:07.18.
Madeline Wilson also had success in the hurdles for the Eagles girls as she took third in the 100m event in 16.25. Wilson, Melodie Albert, Lydia Pelletier-Butler and Danielle Shanahan finished fourth as a relay squad in the 4x100. Anayse Blakley was sixth for FHS in the 300m hurdles.
EAGLES 8, KNIGHTS 3
Flagstaff finally broke the double-hit mark and took its fifth straight win, beating St. Mary's 8-3 on the road Saturday.
Justin Hanson got the win for the 4A Conference Eagles on the mound, going four innings and giving up three runs on three hits while striking out as many batters. Josh Cornelius gave up zero runs on two hits and had two strikeouts in the final three innings in relief of Hanson.
Stephen and Luke Canizales each went 2 of 4 at the plate, while the latter registered an RBI. Sylas Clerry was 2 for 5 with two RBIs while Josh Morrow was 2-for-4 hitting with a double for Flagstaff, which tallied five runs in the fourth inning against the 4A Knights.
The Eagles are scheduled to host a doubleheader with Prescott at Flagstaff High School on Saturday. Game times are set for noon and 3 p.m.
