My heart goes out to all of Flagstaff below the Spruce watershed who fear flooding after the Museum Fire. You are in good hands though, with the experience of Lucinda Andreani (always available to talk, listen, explain, educate and persuade). I finally was able to have the Jersey barriers removed after six years of having them as my landscape design and I can now hear raindrops on my roof and not start to hyperventilate, worrying that water, rocks, mud and bits of burned trees are about to come hurtling toward my property below the Paintbrush watershed in Timberline.
I am so grateful to Lucinda, Natural Channel Design (brilliant and sensitive engineering), Tiffany Construction (those guys were always kind and helpful) and to all the hundreds of others who I don’t know who helped to make us all safe after the Schultz Fire and flood.
We have an experienced team who planned and carried out well-designed measures to protect us, fought for funding (thank you Liz Archuleta) and we can all sleep through rain storms again.
The public servants served us well and they are on the job and doing it again for all of you in Grandview, Paradise and Sunnyside. Take heart and don’t wait as long as I have to thank them.
