If we needed any more evidence of how far out of touch with our community city staff has become, we got it at the Fourth of July parade.
What excuse can there be for the rigid enforcement of parking meter fees and ticketing of residential parking? Of course, the city always needs money, but why punish people wanting to celebrate in one of our long standing public events? These fees and fines should be rescinded. Enforcement personnel might well have preferred joining the parade to handing out tickets.
This is not the Flagstaff we have known.
