As a 45-year resident of Flagstaff with a disability, I am compelled to respond to the determination of ADA parking for the new municipal court as featured in your May 1 article.

Your article mentions that ADA parking is being proposed 2 blocks from the courthouse for “the parcel is restrictive and their top priority was to fulfill the needs of the court.” So are not jurors one of those needs, and how can people serve their civic duty if they cannot effectively access the court?

As most people, I strive to be as independent as possible and am so disheartened that the city is creating another barrier to accessibility for so many of us.
