I am looking for parties that any member, no matter their affiliation, to standard of conduct that is true for anyone. I have not seen that. There is ample evidence on both sides of the aisle of self promotion and personal benefit to fill many volumes. Harry Truman said it best. If you leave politics and rich man, you are a crook. May not have the words exactly right, but he was spot on. We are all complicit in this circus called politics. We refuse to enact term limits and look the other way if a member of "my party" does something that just stinks. I could give examples on both sides, but most are too lazy to look at the facts.
Stop fearing Trump. He is gone, stop blaming all the countries problems on one person. He had his issues, but move on. For free trade, are you looking for it to benefit us or everyone else? For scientific data, are you looking for the lib science or the real science? For diversity, are looking more cancel culture or the racist groups secretly supported by the libs? Try listening to Candace Owens instead of the fake news. For addressing pandemics, are you looking for the Coumo response? Are you talking of the climate issues addressed the way thousands were suddenly left unemployed or the crisis in Texas? In tune with minorities? Try watching a different channel, they are doing fine with reasonable people of all races, religions and beliefs. Helping the unemployed? I believe that was addressed prior to the last election. Lastly, a government for the people? Yeah after they defend themselves from all the hate, chaos and fear generated by the libs. Change has to come from both parties, which isn’t likely. It’s up to the people to vote reasonable people into positions to make responsible changes. It’s time to think independent.
Thanks for the liberal input Cindy. The short answer is NO.
The writer proclaims those in the Republican Party should consider following the likes of Romney, Kasich, or Flake. All of them – back stabbing RINO’s.
Perhaps the writer should consider what’s currently happening in her own party. While 17 million Americans are out of work, Uncle Joe decided to add thousands more, to the unemployment rolls, during his first day in office. Then his handlers decided to open the border, welcoming thousands of illegals to compete for an ever-diminishing number of jobs, in the middle of a raging pandemic, while our public schools are closed. This the democrat version of “forward thinking.” He’s in a hurry for those illegals to get here. No need to test them for the Kungflu. No need to screen them for human traffickers, or MS-13 gang members. To heck with the American people, there’s nothing more important than importing a permanent underclass of uneducated, democrat voters. Gotta keep the democrat party in power. Let’s catch and release them right into the country. A million illegals are expected to enter our country this year. A resurgence of the Kungflu and measles is inevitable. Where’s Dr. Fauchi’s big mouth when we need him? Why don’t we hear any libs crying and whining? Because it’s a democrat president – it’s OK. Our kids aren’t allowed in the classroom but our southern border is wide open. It’s the democrat utopia they’ve been dreaming about. So misguided.
So Cindy, you want a liberal republican party. Of course you do, that's so special... As a lifelong Independent, I have to laugh at your ignorance. I'd like a party (R or D) that actually follows our Constitution, how bout dat??? Term limits, age restrictions and psychological evaluations for all politicians - follow the science!
I disagree with you a bit Johnny, as an independent myself, I find terms like liberal to be relative. John McCain certainly wasn’t a liberal Republican, and he was totally opposed to Trump, and for that matter Mitt Romney would never have been considered liberal in the slightest until he and the others mentioned in this letter were compared to right extremists. Then with the Democrats, you have socialist influenced people like Bernie Sanders, AOC and crew, who make Joe Biden look very much as the conservative Democrat he and most other Democrats are. It’s all relative. So maybe, conservative Democrats and more liberal Republicans can finally find a more common ground. Just maybe then, congress might actually get something done for a change instead of fighting all the time.
I hear ya, but I'm not sure the two parties are interested in seeking common ground anymore. Recent Presidents, especially Biden, are bypassing Congress by use of executive orders - that's not how it's supposed to work. Our federal government is way too over-reaching and has an unsustainable spending problem. We have allowed politicians of all flavors to become some kinda twisted monarchy, where they enrich themselves and their friends. All Americans should demand term limits for every political office, as a means of eliminating career politicians.
