My feelings are that the consideration of the buffalo (at Buffalo Park) is more than that. Why do some people who feel they are "well minded" want to destroy history? Those statues in the East and South may have been destroyed, but why? Those people believed in their cause and no matter how much is destroyed that cause will stay and should always be remembered. Only if we honor and understand history will we not repeat its mistakes.
As for the changing of the guard at Buffalo Park, how soon will that lead to a development of those awful housings being built across the way? There is nothing more peaceful than a walk in that park and rubbing the nose of history, even though he is not a "native!"
