Thanks to Jack Welch's column for pointing out the hazards of trying to cross congested Ft. Valley Rd. on foot or on a bike. Getting to a bus stop is a white-knuckle experience much of the day.
Several things might help: (1) painted crosswalks at each bus stop, (2) completion of a sidewalk on the east side of the road from Forest to Sechrist school, (3) a pedestrian crossing signal at Forest. Note that the view of the crosswalk at Forest is often partially blocked by left turn traffic on Ft. Valley Rd. That makes crossing there especially tricky. I hope the city and ADOT can improve matters sooner rather than later.
