America's unfair visa rules clear from other countries

I’m feeling ashamed today. I just traveled to Central America for two months to study Spanish, learn about the culture, and explore. What did I have to do to get a visa to go there? Nothing. They welcomed me. And the people were kind, and friendly, and wonderful. And many of them told me that it is next to impossible for them to come to my country.

We make it so difficult for them. How is that fair? And how is it just, that we are tear gassing mothers and children that try to enter our country as they flee violence and poverty? Have we completely lost all sense of compassion? Of human decency?
