The article in the September 8th edition regarding illegal left turns onto Leroux Street monumentally misses the mark. While the necessary improvements on Beaver Street are being made, the left turn from westbound Columbus onto Leroux should be temporarily opened, not further restricted. The southbound traffic on Humphreys is already appalling. I hate to think what it will be like come snowplay season.
Of course, there is temporary inconvenience for all of us who have to travel regularly between Columbus and Santa Fe Avenues while Beaver Street is improved. The residents and businesses on Leroux Street ought not to mind too much in having to share that inconvenience.
I would encourage the city and police department to stop trying to restrict traffic flow further; it is restricted enough. They should temporarily allow the southbound left turn onto Leroux from Columbus until Beaver Street is reopened.
