Police situation

A Williams man was arrested Monday morning for allegedly murdering his wife and her sister, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The incident began with a confession, after the suspect approached an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper near his home in Red Lake at 8:37 p.m. Sunday night. The suspect ran out on the county road and stopped the trooper as he passed through.

The man spoke to the trooper and said “something to the effect” of he couldn’t take it anymore and had killed his wife and her sister at their home, sheriff’s office reports.

The trooper detained the man and called the sheriff’s office.

Authorities eventually entered the home and found two dead women. The man was transported to the Coconino County Sheriff's office and interviewed by detectives, who said the suspect spoke about how the victims were killed.

The man has been taken to county jail and booked with two second degree murder charges, according to Coconino County records.
