Aztec closed till November

Aztec Street from West Santa Fe Avenue to the Frances Short Pond will be closed to through traffic from July 15 to this upcoming November as the city makes street and utility repairs, according to a media release.

The intersections of Aztec and Aspen, Birch and Cherry avenues will also see occasional closures throughout the next few months. Detour routes will be posted. Trash and mail services will not be impacted and those who live on the street will be allowed to travel on the road.

For the first period of the project, access to the Frances Short Pond will still be possible from Cherry Avenue on the northern most section of Aztec.

The southwest corner of the Mogollon Yard will be utilized as a temporary construction yard for the duration of the project, with access off Aztec Street.
