A large backhoe demolished the old Wall Aquatic Center on the Northern Arizona University Campus Monday, April 4, 2016.
Built in 1983, the Wall Aquatic Center was home to NAU's swimming and diving program for more than 30 years. It was recently replaced by the new NAU Aquatics and Tennis Complex, which opened in late February.
After the Wall Aquatic Center is completely demolished, a recreation field and six outdoor tennis courts will be installed in its place.
