Aggravated assault

A man was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest after he allegedly tried to hit his neighbor with a bat on Saturday in the 2600 block of Route 66. Police reported that the victim was not hit with the bat and did not suffer any injuries.

When the man was arrested he attempted to attack police, but was quickly detained.

The man was identified as Douglas Sanders.

Drug possession

A man was arrested after he attempted to bring drugs into a shelter located at 4185 E. Huntington Dr., on Saturday. When shelter employees searched his bag they found methamphetamine and a meth pipe.

The man reportedly got angry and walked away from the shelter. Police later found the man on the railroad tracks on North Fanning Drive.

Joseph Garcia, 34, with no permanent address, was arrested for narcotics possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A woman reported a break in at her house in the 800 block of North Turquoise Drive on Saturday. The woman said that someone has been squatting in the house. When police searched the residence, they found food, trash and a soup can filled with urine.
