Vivian Reynolds, 91, died in Flagstaff on September 30, 2017. She was born in Tennessee on June 23, 1926, and lived many years in Virginia. Survivors are 2 daughters, and a son. She is sadly missed by all her Flagstaff and Virginia friends.
Vivian and her husband, Sam Reynolds, followed his military career, and were stationed in many states during his 23 years in the Army. They also spent time in occupied Germany after World War 2. When Sam retired, they purchased his parents' family farm in rural Virginia, and enjoyed 'life on the farm' for more than 20 years. After a long battle with cancer, Sam died in 1999, and Vivian sold the farm, and relocated to Arizona.
Vivian was a lively, social lady, and had numerous friends in Flagstaff. She traveled as often as possible, with the Flagstaff "senior trips and travel" and a trip back to Virginia to visit old friends. She was always up for a movie, a ball game, or a party, and fully enjoyed life.
She moved to Brookdale Retirement Community, when her health became fragile, but continued her busy, social life.
Her constant companion was her little dog, Snuggs, who lived to the age of 18, dying only a few weeks before Vivian passed.
During her 15 + years in Flagstaff, Vivian made many friends, and was always fun to be with. She had some serious personal and health crises, but maintained a positive outlook, and was a joyful friend. We will miss this dear Southern Lady.
Vivian was cremated and her cremains will be joined with those of Sam and Snuggs - together to the end....
There will be a memorial coffee for her friends at Brookdale,
2100 S. Woodlands Village Blvd. on Thursday, October 12th, at 2:00 pm. Please join us to share stories or photos of Vivian's years in Flagstaff.
