Merle Vernon Tucker, born January 25, 1922 passed away on Saturday June 1, 2019. Rita Mae Tucker, born March 15, 1925 passed shortly after on June 3, 2019.
Rita and Merle met in Alexandria, Louisiana during World War II. Merle proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp while Rita was a Riveter for the war cause. Merle served on Guam during the war from 1944-1945. Rita and Merle started their family in California and lived there for 24 years then moved to Arkansas finally settling in Flagstaff. Rita and Merle were happily married for 75 years. Rita and Merle made Flagstaff there home for the last 42 years of their lives due to the fact that it was the most beautiful and peaceful places they had ever known.
Rita and Merle are survived by their children Gerald and spouse Sue, Dale, Deborah and spouse Jimmy, Lynn and spouse Jim, and Muffin their Kitty. Grandchildren Treva, Casey, George, Jarrabeth, James, Jamie, Trena, Dina, Angie, Kristina, and Marissa. Great Grandchildren Angie, Devan, Adrianna, Marissa, Talula, C.J., Breanna, Ethan, Henry, Madison, Jordyn, Dylan, Austin, and Brandon. Great-Great Grandchild Daniel. Rita’s brother Adolphus and spouse Dot. Rita’s sister Eloise, and sister-in law June. Both Rita and Merle are survived by many Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews.
Rita and Merle lived their lives in the light of our Lord and will live forever in the hearts of all that they knew.
