Margarita Samudio, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 3, 2017 at her home in Peoria, Arizona. Margarita was born on April 7, 1947 in Bogota, Colombia to Telesforo and Victoria (Forigua) Pedraza. Margarita immigrated to the United States to Worcester, Massachusetts in 1965. It was there where she met the love her life Guadalupe Samudio with whom she just celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 26, 2017. Together they were blessed with three children.
Margarita and her family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1979 and lived there until her retirement. Margarita retired as a State of Arizona employee of Northern Arizona University where she dedicated 24 years as a custodian. Margarita truly loved her entire family which extends from Colombia, Panama, Canada and the United States. Margarita lived her life modesty and enjoyed simple pleasures such as visiting and spending time with family/friends, shopping, and snacking on her favorite foods. Margarita had an uncanny ability to reach people in deep spiritual ways.
Margarita is survived by her loving husband Guadalupe Samudio, her three children Luis (Carmen) Samudio, Victoria (Jaime) Samudio-Rodriguez, Rey (Robin) Samudio, Stepson Alberto Samudio (Maria), her most dear inseparable sister Maria Clementia Pedraza, sister Tiodolinda Malagón Pedraza (Bogotá, Colombia) and brother Eliodoro Pedraza, 11 beautiful grandchildren and 8 precious great grandchildren.
ROSARY and viewing on THURSDAY September 6, 2017 at Holy Cross Mortuary on 99th Ave and Thomas, Phoenix, AZ. From 4:00 to 6:00 pm with the Rosary at 6:00 pm. FUNERAL mass on FRIDAY September 7, 2017 10:00 am at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help at 5614 W Orangewood Ave. Glendale, Az 85301. She will be laid to rest following the mass at Saint Francis catholic Cemetery Phoenix, AZ.
