Jacqueline Lee Sullivan passed away December 9, 2018 surrounded by her family. Jacque was born in 1931 in Clayton, Mew Mexico to Archie and Margret (Barton) Stepp. She was the oldest of six children, Sister Sammie, brothers Archie, Tommy and Larry.
She moved to Flagstaff in 1943, graduating from Flagstaff High in 1948. Jacque married Lee Sullivan March 17, 1951 and they celebrated their anniversary and St Patrick’s Day together for 65 years.
Jacque was best known as the owner and operator of Jacque’s 19th Hole, and prior to that the Ramada Inn and Hidden Village Cocktail Lounges. She loved her work and the people she interacted with daily. She always remembered the friendships she had with her employees and customers.
Jacque loved sports. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, and followed NAU football watching many games from the old Lumberjack Stadium. She and Lee were very excited when the Skydome opened and could finally see games in a warm environment. She was a great fan and her favorite saying was, “give the ball to Willard.”
She loved her garden and yard and had fond memories of plants and flowers friends had given her over the years, refusing to let anyone thin or move them. She had a beautiful crop of tomatoes each year.
Jacque was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she would help in any way she could. Her life was based on service and she lived that to the fullest, even if she was attending events she jumped in and helped serve making sure everyone else had their meal or drink before she had hers.
The last few years of her life she devoted to her husband Lee and served as his caregiver until he passed away in 2017.
She is survived by her Children Jerri Ann (White), Lee Dusty Sullivan, and Tim Sullivan. Grandchildren Aaron, Dustin, Susan, Cortney, Cameron, and Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Sammie in 2011, her husband Lee in 2017, and her twin Children, baby boy Sullivan and Daughter Margret in 1952. Our family takes great comfort in knowing that Lee and Jacque get to spend their first Christmas together with their twins.
A celebration of life for Jacque and Lee will be held at the Flagstaff Elks Lodge on Saturday January 19, 2019 at 1:00 pm. For several years Jacque quietly assisted Joe Brown with the Flagstaff Special Olympics. The family would request that in lieu of flowers bring a donation to the celebration, and we will forward them to the Special Olympics in their honor.
Memories and condolences can be shared with family directly or through the online guestbook at www.norvelowensmortuary.com
