H. Richard Delaney
Dick was born in Flora, Ill. where he graduated from high school and participated in all school sports. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Dick continued his education receiving his B.S., Truman State University; M.S. degree, Southern Illinois University; and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri. In 1953 he married Jane Miller Powell. Prior to joining the Criminal Justice faculty at Northern Arizona University in 1975, Dick served in the Commissioned Officers Corps of the Public Health Service and was a consultant with Community Studies and Midwest Research Institute in Kansas City. Dick taught at Christian College, Eastern Illinois University, and Southern Illinois University. For several years, Dick served as Faculty Advisor to the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity. One son, Douglas Patrick, preceded in death. Survivors include wife, Jane, son, Dan, daughter-in-law, Yuly, and granddaughter, Jennifer, all of Flagstaff. Private family services are planned at a later date.
