David Ira Goldberg
July 1, 1960 - October 12, 2017
David Goldberg lived a wonderful life. He passionately forged his path at a young age and kept his focus to the end. He was a profound lover of nature finding peace, comfort and tranquility there.
The mountains first called David while attending a National Outdoor Leadership School trip at the age of 14. This set him on a lifelong dedication to peaks and trails. He traversed them the world over by bike, and on foot, raising money for causes dear to his heart and pursuing personal athletic goals. He defended the needs of the under-served in a distinguished law career that included arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court and fighting for the rights of the mentally ill. David made a huge difference in countless peoples’ lives.
David was equally committed to his family. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, son and son-in-law.
David influenced our lives in many beautiful ways and will live on in our hearts. We say goodbye much too soon.
Donations in his honor may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) and the National Outdoor Leadership School (nols.edu).
