Billy Dean Crawley, 82, of Kayenta, AZ passed away on February 10, 2018 in Flagstaff, AZ.
Billy was born in Phoenix, AZ to Alice and Dillard Crawley. His maternal clan is Osage (Black Bear) and his paternal clan is English.
Billy was a Private First Class in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, he became a tour operator for the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. He also contributed to his community in the areas of athletics, local businesses, and the Navajo Nation. He is most known for showing the world through his tour company, Crawley’s Monument Valley Tours for 60 years. Billy’s interests included exploring, singing, off-roading, and his family. He was a prominent member of his community and always had a story to share.
Billy is survived by his daughters, Tammie Dee Nelson, Whitney Dawn Crawley-Miller, Michelle Dawn Jensen-Crawley; sons Billy Dean Crawley II, Cooder Dean Crawley and Chandler Dean Crawley; step daughter Nika Nicole Augustine, step son Gunnar Soren Jensen; sister Alice Maxine Cornford and brother Dillard Crawley. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Sammie Jo Mobley, Nickolas Aaron Nelson, William Thomas Nelson, Kelsey Vie McQuitty, Kiersten Shondiin Miller-June, Kelloi Nizhoni Ponyahquaptewa, Kamille Dawn Ponyahquaptewa, Summer Lynn Crawley, Quanah Secoya Crawley and Brentley Dean Crawley; 3 great-grandchildren, Taylynn D’Lee Banry, Sage Alice June and Daya Autumn June. Billy is preceded in death by his parents Alice H. Crawley and Dillard C. Crawley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lozano’s Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. Fourth St., Flagstaff, AZ 86004. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Citizens Cemetery, 1300 S. San Francisco St, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
