Antonia Canedo, 82, a life-time resident of Flagstaff, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in her home surrounded by family after a long battle of Alzheimer’s .
Born in Flagstaff, Az, she was the daughter of Merced and Francisca (Lomeli) Rodriguez. She worked as a housekeeper for many years.
She was an avid catholic and member of San Francisco de Asis Parish. She was most proud of her son and daughter-in-law. She enjoyed spending her precious time with family and family pets (dogs) Charlie and Nymeria; which brought out the best of her. She also enjoyed listening to Mariachi music. She will be remembered for her strong faith and her strong will. She fought against her disease with all that she had.
She is survived by her son Joe and daughter-in-law Maria (Veloz) Canedo; sisters, Frances Garcia, Carlotta Montoya, Martha (Alfonso) Alarcón and Carmen (José) Orozco; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Merced and Francisca (Lomeli) Rodriguez; sisters Trinidad Martinez, Guadalupe Garcia, Eulalia Garcia and brother Johnny Rodriguez.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 beginning with a rosary at 9:30 am and Mass at 10:30 am at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church with interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery followed by a luncheon back at the church hall.
