Ann Holmes

Ann was born in Loveland, Colorado to Ward and Dorotha Olson. She graduated from Nebraska University in 1961 with degrees in Music and Education. That year she married John Holmes in Omaha, Nebraska and would remain married for almost 58 years. She moved to Flagstaff with John(Jack) in 1968 and lived there for 50 years before moving to Phoenix in 2018. During her life in Flagstaff she raised three boys while teaching piano, flute, and voice lessons from her home. Ann was also a gifted seamstress and created numerous garments and magnificent quilts over her lifetime. She was also deeply grounded in her Christian faith and her spirit radiated light into the darkness of others through her teaching and support. The world is diminished by her passing, but those that knew her are enriched by her caring and her love. Ann is survived by her husband, her sons Brian, Adam and Geoffrey, her grandchildren Caroline, Hansel, Caeden, Everleigh, and Austin, and her brother John Olson. The family held a private memorial service on 2/2/2019.
