In honor of National Apprenticeship Week, November 11-16, the Northern Arizona Electrical Contractors’ Association (NAECA) will host an open house Wednesday, November 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in its upstairs classroom at 300 S. Babbitt Drive, Suite 1.
Last year, NAECA received the Exemplary Program Award in the Construction category from the Arizona Apprenticeship Advisory Committee. Through this program, students must complete four years of accredited classes and more than 8,000 hours of on-the-job training in the electrical field.

A group of five students will be graduating from the program in December: Kyle Begay, Brandon Shorty, Brian Yazzie, Kyle Marquez and Alex Spendlove. The NAECA board has nominated Brian Yazzie to be its Outstanding Electrical Apprentice for the year. He will be recognized alongside other statewide apprentices at a banquet held in Tucson Nov. 16.
