As longtime readers might know, we traditionally don't put out a paper on Christmas Day so that our employees can spend time with their families. This year that would have meant back-to-back days with no paper, so we compromised and put together this issue in advance.
That means we're missing a few staples like the weather information and timely sports info, but in exchange, we've got some of the best photos of the year in big, beautiful color.
We'll be back with regular issues for the rest of the week, including the annual Citizens and Organization of the Year as well as a special honor for the Platt Cline humanitarian award, as nominated by the past winners. After that it's coverage of some of Flagstaff's staples like the Pine Cone Drop, the first baby of the year and the Polar Plunge.
Thank you for your understanding and for your readership of the Daily Sun. It was a tumultuous year, but we hope to keep putting our best foot forward in 2019. Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
