The 2A Northland Prep boys basketball team fell to the 3A Kingman Bulldogs Thursday night, despite solid performances from Hayden Anderson and Nathaniel Sullivan.

The Spartans lost 74-56 on the road and drop to 1-1 on the season after opening with a win over Williams.

Anderson scored 12, including two makes from behind the arc, and Sullivan scored 14, including a solid 6-of-11 night from the foul line for Northland Prep. Silas Marquez added in eight for the Spartans.

Northland Prep travels to Phoenix to face North Pointe Prep on Monday to start 2A Central region play.



The Spartans struggled to get going on the road in Kingman, losing big to the Bulldogs.

Ana Nicol scored 11 to lead the way for Northland Prep, which dropped to 0-2 on the season with the non-conference loss to 3A Kingman. Northland Prep will be at North Point Prep to open 2A Central region play on Monday.


The Division IV Northland Prep Spartans competed in a road round robin meet on Wednesday in Winslow.

Lucas Benton and Kobe Yazzie came away with 2-2 records for the Spartans. Benton recorded two pins and Kobe Yazzie won on a major decision at 16-4 and a fall. Avery Yazzie went 1-3 with a pin and Liam Cashmore finished 2-1 with two falls in his favor. Emory Burden was 1 for 3 in his matches.
