The Northland Prep boys cross country team edged out Hopi for first place in the Division IV, Section Three sectional meet Friday at the Hidden Cove Golf Course in Holbrook.
The Spartans put together a low score of 44 to beat out Hopi's 47. The next closest team to the two, Many Farms, scored 94.
Four Spartans made it into the top 10, paced by Dana Leib-Perry in first place in 16:46.7 for the 5K. Brandon Bounds took third overall in 17:06.5, followed by Malakai Hanson at fifth in 17:18.1 and Credence Jones taking ninth place in 17:37.1.
Kobe Yazzie came in at 29th, and Nevan Watson and Isaak Ulm finished 36th and 44th respectively to round out the finishers for the Spartans boys team.
On the girls side for Northland Prep, the Spartans were second with 72 points, a bit behind first-place St. Michael's 23.
Abby Sperl led the way for the Spartans with a fifth-place finish in 21:29.7, setting a PR in the process. Audrey Gillenwater, Dena Pappas and Meg Moyer took 11th, 17th and 18th respectively to round out the top-20 finishers for Northland Prep.
Mo Cooney finished 24th, Maya White 29th and Meg Moezzi 40th for the Spartans.
The Page boys, meanwhile, continued their dominance over the D-III, Section Four with a first-place finish at Hidden Grove. The Sand Devils scored a low score of 52, six points ahead of Prescott's 58.
Three runners finished in the top 10 for Page, with Trent Holiday taking the top spot in 16:27.3 while Rex Martin was third in 16:46.4 and Skyler Sandoval was ninth in 16:58.6.
Colton Yazzie took 15th place for Page, while Gavyn Begay, Shayden Begay and Quentin Davis took 24th, 33rd and 34th respectively.
In the same section as Page, the Coconino boys finished 13th overall as a team with a score of 349 as Adin Scott led the way for the team in 59th place.

Over on the girls side in the race, Coconino took fourth place as a team with 116 points. Wheaten Smith led the way for the team in fourth place overall in 20:00.5. Kaelynn Ashley cross the finish line not long after for ninth place in 20:24.9.
Zofia Sawasky, Zoe Sather and Macy Smith finished in 30th, 35th and 38th respectively. Ryanna Begay took 44th and Kalianna Riley landed in 77th.
For Page, the Sand Devils girls team took ninth place overall with a score of 279. Lashawnda Yazzie led the way for Page with a 31st-place finish in 21:51.1.
The D-III and D-IV state championship races are set for Saturday, Nov. 16, at Queen Creek Golf Course in the Valley.
SWIM AND DIVE
Northland Prep finished its season with a 21st-place finish on the girls side and a 30th-place finish on the boys side in the D-III swimming and diving state championship meet in Mesa.
Austin Kwan took 12th in the boys 100-yard backstroke and 15th in the 200 individual medley, Jillian Rabb finished in 14th in the girls 500 freestyle and 13th in the 200 freestyle, and Chloe Donahue was seventh in the girls 1-meter dive.
The Basis Flagstaff girls team finished 16th overall among D-III schools.
Clara Schuur finished in 12th place in the 200 IM, with teammate Ali Henes not far behind in 14th place. Tatum Holm landed in third in the 1-meter dive.
Schuur also added a 16th-place finish in the 100 butterfly, and Henes took 16th in the 500 freestyle. The Basis 200 freestyle relay team took 14th with its team comprised of Maille Conn, Grace Montgomery, Emma Pati and Sarah Towey.
