The Flagstaff Eagles ran into a tough challenge on Friday while playing on the road.

The Flagstaff girls basketball team got 11 points from freshman Miyah Verse in a 59-22 loss to the Seton Catholic Sentinels, losing their second straight to start the season.

The 4A Conference Sentinels improved to 3-0 with the victory over the 4A Eagles and have won all three games by at least 20 points so far this season.

It was the second time Verse led the Eagles in scoring. Flagstaff hit one 3-pointer in the loss.

Flagstaff will take on the Prescott Badgers on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. for both teams' Grand Canyon Region openers.
