The D-backs Baseball Academy Youth Summer Camp is coming to Flagstaff from July 29 to Aug. 2.

The camp will be at Continental Park and run from 8-11 a.m. daily. The camps are taught by D-backs Academy coaches to provide quality instruction that includes comprehensive baseball fundamentals such as throwing, receiving, hitting, infield, outfield, base running, pitching and catching. The camp week concludes with a skills contest during which campers compete for a chance to qualify for Champions Day at Chase Field.

D-backs youth camps are for boys and girls ages 6-14 and cost $195. All registrations include a D-backs baseball cap, T-shirt and a free ticket to a D-backs home game with the opportunity to purchase additional tickets at a discount. For more information, visit www.dbacks.com/academy.

YAVAPAI CAMP

The Mile High Baseball School Overnight Camp at Yavapai Colleges Prescott Campus is set to take place Sunday through Wednesday.

The baseball camp will be at the Roughrider Park on campus.

At the camp athletes will learn skills from a new perspective with a fresh, dynamic approach to teaching baseball. Attendees will receive quality instruction in baseball skill and technical work, tactics, strategy and games.

There will be groups matching age and ability to maximize learning experience. Instructors will closely monitor individual needs and develop skills and initiative so that ballplayers personally grow from this total learning experience. The camp will include instruction on hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running. Specialty areas will include speed, strength, conditioning and mental skills.

The camp is for players between the ages of 10 and 18. Campers have the option of overnight stay in Yavapai College housing. Meals and activities will be included in the camp fee. Campers will be under adult supervision at all times. Registration and introduction for the camp will be on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Camp will take place for the next three days from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The fee for campers who will be commuting to camp is $175. The fee for campers staying overnight is $400. An additional $10 will be added to fee for late registration. The camp capacity is limited to 150 campers.
