What a charade this is.
Boo-hoo, the pre-teens of the legislature don't get their way, so they want to steal all the marbles from the people and hide in their cave with them.
The GOP as now ironic, self-righteous totalitarians, murmuring opportunistically about "freedom", their punchline for a joke, I guess.
I'd contribute to sending Mr. Thorpe off to Oregon for as long as possible.
For being so "freedom-loving", Arizona's GOP is sure staking out positions that limit citizen-democracy in AZ. First, there's Ducey threatening charter cities on the minimum wage, and now the legislature wants to go after initiative, referendum, and recall- the only real checks and balances citizens have against an abusive government (oh, the irony).
