Oct. 12 update: The maples and oaks of West Fork in Oalk Creek Canyon are starting to turn
Oct. 8 update: Readers have sent striking fall color photos from the North Rim, the Waterline Road above Lockett Meadow, Forest Road 418 and upper Hart Prairie.
Oct. 5: The leaves at Aspen Corner at 9,000 feet were nearly at full turn Wednesday, about a week ahead of normal. The aspen below Agua Fria tank had already turned. And farther up the mountain at 9,500 feet, some of the lower groves off the Snowbowl parking lots were past their peak, with a thick carpet of golden leaves atop the brown ferns and still-green grass.
