Flagstaff Toys for Tots needs your help

Love and Warmth From Santa

Ocean Ensley, 11, accepts his Christmas gift from Santa and Mrs. Claus Thursday evening in the Paul Sweitzer Reading Room at the Flagstaff Family Food Center. The U.S Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program donated enough toys to provide toys for 400 children. Each child received a large toy, a smaller toy, a new book, a goodie sack, and a new hat and gloves.

As you’ve probably noticed, those familiar Toys for Tots collection boxes and donation jars have been popping up all over town. For the 2018 holiday season, this all-volunteer organization expects to distribute toys to over 10,000 deserving local boys and girls. Many of these toys will be collected in local drop boxes, so every donation of a new, unwrapped toy is greatly appreciated. But few people realize that almost 90% of all toys distributed in Northern Arizona are actually purchased rather than donated. That’s why cash donations are so important, as well. And 98% of all cash donations go directly to purchasing toys for kids.

Please visit local businesses and organizations that are supporting Toys for Tots by hosting a toy collection box or donation jar.
