Westbound lanes of Interstate 40 have reopened west of Williams, between mileposts 161 and 166, while eastbound lanes remain closed in this stretch due to severe winter weather, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
There is no estimated time to reopen the eastbound lanes of I-40.
Conditions remain difficult on I-40 near Flagstaff and I-17 south of Flagstaff due to snowfall. ADOT recommends that those traveling up I-17 to Flagstaff put off travel for the time being unless they have chains or four-wheel-drive vehicles.

The storm brought Flagstaff's first measurable snow of the season, the second latest that has ever happened in the city. The record is Jan. 15 back in 2006.
The National Weather Service was calling for two to four inches of snow from the overnight storm, with a 50 percent chance of another half-inch Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to return to the mid-50s through the weekend.
