Dr. Sharon Moses, a Northern Arizona University assistant professor of anthropology, has been awarded the 2019 national Robert Gaffney Achievement Award. Moses won the award for an oral presentation she gave, "Foresnic Archaeology Matters: Methods, Differentation from and Contributsion to, Other Forensic Strategies in Crime Scene Investigation," at the 2018 American Academy of Forensic Sciences annual meeting in Seattle, Washington.

According to the AAFS, "(The award) is designed to promote continual professional growth in forensic science and to encourage new forensic science professionals or 'rising stars,' in their occupational specialties." membership in the AAFS is grated following a rigorous application process.
