Coconino County Search and Rescue has had to conduct six back country rescues so far this year. Those rescues were neccesary, in part, because outdoor enthusiasts didn't prepare to leave designated ski areas. Here are a few tips from James Foulks, the Vice President of Kachina Peaks Avalanche Center, on what you need to head out in search of fresh powder.
