Flagstaff International Relief Effort is hosting its fourth "Fireworks" photography and fine art auction at the Flagstaff Photography Center Dec. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. The silent auction boasts artwork from some of Flagstaff's most renowned photographers and artists as well as Mongolian artwork and other unique items. Complimentary wine and appetizers will also be provided and attendees can also look forward to a raffle every 15 minutes. There is no cost to attend the event.
The last "Fireworks" auction was in 2007 and raised more than $3,500 for FIRE programs, which deliver aid to the most impoverished areas of Mongolia in the form of medical supplies, clothing, educational tools and more. The organization hopes to top that fundraising amount this year.
"We are very excited for this auction and are eternally grateful to the Flagstaff community for their generosity in donating many of our auction items", said Meredith Potts, director of FIRE. "We could not continue our work in Mongolia without the help we receive locally."
All proceeds from the "Fireworks" auction will be used to benefit FIRE programs and the organization. For more information about FIRE, visit www.fireprojects.org or call 779-2288.
