The Arizona Court of Appeals will be hearing a case at Northern Arizona University this week.

The oral argument for Son Silver West Gallery Inc. V. City of Sedona will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ashurst Hall, and the public is invited to attend.

According to an Arizona Supreme Court case summery document, the case involves a zoning dispute between the City of Sedona and Silver West Gallery, Inc., and its owners, the Robsons.

The Arizona Court of Appeals will occasionally travel around the state to give college students and communities the chance to watch an appeals court proceeding live when they wouldn't normally get to do so.

Heidi Toth, assistant director of NAU communications said this is the first time the Arizona Court of Appeals is coming to NAU.

"They’re trying to do community outreach to expose the community to how the appeals process works," she wrote in an email. "We’re hoping to get it here more in the future."

For classes interested in attending, please contact 928-523-3672 to reserve a space.
