The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is hoping to implement a $14-per-night camping fee for the Beehives Primitive Campground at Ferry Swale, according to a media release.
Comments will be accepted until July 24. The campground is located near Page on the west side of Highway 89 near the Wahweap South Entrance.
In 2017, the area became a popular hiking access point and the heavy visitation and off-road camping impacted the area and damaged resources. The fee will be used for projects and activities that can improve the park’s needs and serve visitors to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, according to the release.
