Taste a bit of Flavor at the first annual food and wine festival in Northern Arizona, hosted in partnership with Local First Arizona and Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden. Celebrate Arizona's vintners and independent restaurants on Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m., on the beautiful garden grounds at Warner's Nursery, 1101 E. Butler Avenue.
The Flavor Food and Wine Festival is inspired by other well-known Local First Arizona festivals. Focused on bringing awareness to local Arizona vintners, restaurateurs and retail vendors, Flavor will feature over a dozen vendors including; wineries, local craft brewers, fine food purveyors, artists and live music.
Some participating wineries include Drinking Horn Meadery, Page Springs Cellars, Del Rio Springs Vineyards and Su Vino Vineyards. Restaurants include Shift Kitchen, Merkin Pizza Wagon, Canyon Jacks Food Truck and Los Muertos Salsa. Entertainment includes Momentum Aerial Arts, guitarist Sky Black and indie/rock band 76th Street.
General Admission entry tickets are $35 and include six tasting tickets, a commemorative tasting glass and a free reusable water bottle. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth for $1 per ticket and used for tastings/samplings or glasses of wine/small plates from any winery or restaurant. Bow Wow Film Festival
Wagstaff presents a joyful, traveling, dog -centric collection of short films that celebrates the human canine bond at the Orpheum on Saturday, Sep. 14. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the festival starts at 5 p.m.
Featuring the year’s best pooch-themed shorts all wrapped up in one beautiful, 90 minute, fun-loving package. Adventure Dogs, Working Dogs, World-Champion Dogs, Animation and the return of Ask Frank and his advice column along with our very own Local Feature - Trail Dawgz.

Tickets are available at the Orpheum Box office for $12.50. Proceeds will benefit Mountain Girl Rescue, dedicated to ending suffering of at-risk dogs.
Youtube sensation at the Orpheum
Comedian JP Sears will be performing with Shaun Murphy at The Orpheum on Sunday, Sep. 15 from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25-$75 and can be purchased at greenhouseproductions.net.
Sears is a comedian as well as YouTuber, emotional healing coach, author, speaker, world traveler and curious student of life. His work empowers people to live more meaningful lives. He is very active with his online videos where he encourages healing and growth through his humorous and entertainingly informative videos, which have accumulated over 300 million views. JP is also the host of his new podcast, “The Awaken.”
Meet an Astronaut in Training
For the Flagstaff Festival of Science's Lunar Lecture on Monday, Sep. 16 astronauts that are training in Flagstaff will come to Coconino Community College's Lone Tree campus. From 7 to 8 p.m., astronaut Donald Pettit and astronaut candidate Jessica Watkins will share their journeys to becoming astronauts and describe their connection to Flagstaff. Entry and parking are complimentary and open to all.
