Flagstaff Lodging, Restaurant and Tourism Association has scheduled a business workshop at the Museum of Northern Arizona for Monday, March 18 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
This workshop is intended for local industry owners and general managers to discuss ideas of how to stay profitable with the higher costs of labor and materials. This is a free to attend workshop where your questions and ideas are important. FLRTA appreciates all donations.
Scheduled to attend the workshop is Pete Sittnick, Managing Partner, Waterbar/EPIC Steak from San Francisco where the minimum wage is already $15 per hour. He will share what has occurred for his and other businesses.
There will also be two locals lined up to assist with our workshop: Derrick Doba, CPA, and Rebecca Plevel, Labor Lawyer. They will assist in ensuring our topics keep us legal.

Anger Management Stand-up Comedy Show
Featured comic Diaz Mackie will be performing at the Anger Management Stand-up Comedy Show at the Orpheum on Friday, March 15th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8.50.
Mackie began his comedy career in Las Vegas in 2006, after moving from Michigan. Since then, he has traveled across the country headlining in clubs and colleges with his refreshing, upbeat and observational humor.
Mackie has also made multiple TV appearances, including an appearance in Rob Schneider’s “Real Rob” currently streaming on Netflix and NBC shows Matthew Perry's “Go On" and Anthony Anderson's “Guy's With Kids". He also appeared on “Shameless," starring William H. Macy and “House of Lies,” starring Don Cheadle on Showtime. Mackie was also featured as a guest judge on Season 6 of Bill Bellamy's "Who's Got Jokes," which aired on TVOne.
Celebrate local treasures with artist gathering
Celebrate the arrival of spring with an informal gathering of artists who write and photograph the natural environment.
Join local authors Susan Bean, Don Lago, and Susan Olberding along with photographer Tom Bean at Brightside Bookshop on Tuesday, March 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each artist will have samples of their work to share. Light refreshments will be available at this free event.
