I-40 paving west of Flagstaff 

Those driving on Interstate 17 near Flagstaff should plan for slower speeds and delays throughout July as the Arizona Department of Transportation completes road maintenance according to a media release.

Until July 26, construction is occurring between mileposts 334 and 340, from Kachina Village to the Interstate 40 junction on northbound I-17 while a pavement-repair project continues.

Work is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Fridays, from July 11 to July 26. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

This week will also see a number of lane restrictions as work is done during daytime hours.

On July 16, southbound I-17 will be restricted to one lane near the scenic overlook at milepost 312, at Stoneman Lake Road at milepost 307 and near McGuireville rest area at milepost 297.

On July 17, the southbound interstate will be reduced to one lane near Exit 293 to Rimrock at milepost 293.

Lastly on July 17 and 18, northbound I-17 will be reduced to one lane at the State Route 179 Sedona exit at milepost 298, south of Stoneman Lake Road at milepost 304 and south of the Rimrock Exit 293 at mileposts 292.

The restrictions this week are scheduled to occur from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and include a 12-foot vehicle-width restriction and reduced speed limit of 55 mph through the work zones.
