-- Do stay away from addictions like alcohol, drugs, gambling and infidelity.

-- Do prepare yourself for difficult times through prayer, meditation and proper diet.

-- Do hold to your spiritual core and restrain your conduct.

-- Do seek out community support and faith groups.

-- Do downsize your lifestyle.

-- Do rub shoulders with those poorer than yourself.

-- Do keep a budget and save.

DON'T

-- Don't view economic hardships as punishments from God.

-- Don't wallow in blaming people, places and things for your misfortunes.

-- Don't play victim and complain all the time.

-- Don't hoard what you have.

-- Don't nurse angry feelings about your situation.

-- Don't isolate yourself from other people.

-- Don't justify lying, cheating and stealing because of your difficult situation.

-- Don't count on credit to bail you out of troubles.
