Christ's Church of Flagstaff: The message will be "The Return Home" from "The Story" series.

Epiphany Episcopal Church: The Rev. Jan James: will speak on "Wisdom." 12th Sunday after Pentecost. Forum: "Lives of the Great Christians: Leo IX, Gregory VII, Reform"

Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church of Flagstaff: Readers Vespers will be celebrated Saturday. 11th Sunday of Matthew. Divine Liturgy. The Rev. Fr. Gherman will celebrate Matins and Divine Liturgy Sunday. Sermon: Holy Martyrs Timothy.

San Francisco de Asis Catholic Parish: Fr. Patrick Mowrer, Fr. Jesse Ty, and Fr. Matt Lowry will speak on "I am the living bread that came down from heaven ..." They will preach the Gospel of John 6:51-58. Cursillo Kick Off Ultreya, 1:30 to 4 p.m., Bushmaster Park.

Beacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation: Sharon Richards will speak on "Childhood Memories." Social Action Sunday -- all plate cash not otherwise designated goes to local nonprofits.

Northern Arizona Church of Christ: Tad Klein will be speaking about the college ministry at NAU. This ministry is called Vintage.

Federated Community Church: The Rev. Jed Schenck shares the message, "Today's a Gift from God," based on the epistle lesson, Ephesians 5:15-20.

Church of the Resurrection: The message will be "The Incendiary Fellowship." Guest speaker Dr. Glen Allen will be preaching from Ephesians 4:1-16.

Apostolic Faith Ministries: Pastor Ramonett will speak on "The Omniscient God."

Shepherd of the Hills ELCA: Pastor Susan Swanson will speak on "I Am the Bread of Life." Celebration and Classic worship services Sunday. Spoken word service Saturday. Holy Communion at all. Fellowship and refreshments following the Celebration service.

Calvary Bible Church: Pastor John Summers will speak on "The Step of Faith." Sermon text is John 6:60-71, continuing a great study in the Gospel of John. Evening service starts at 5:30 this week only. "The Debatable Decision," Acts 21:15-26.

Hope Community Church: Pastor Dave Reynolds will speak on "Physical Touch -- The Power of Presence." He will be finishing the series, "Living a Life of Love." This message will come from Ephesians 2:13.

Mountain View Church: Pastor Mike Irwin will speak on "By My Spirit, Part II." From the Classic series. Join us as we look at Zechariah 4:6-7.

Trinity Heights: Pastor Jessica Goad will speak on "Sharing the Story." Based on scripture from John 6:35, 41-51.

Flagstaff Christian Fellowship: Dan Barton will speak on "God Hears an Underwater Prayer." from Jonah Chapter 2. Adult Sunday School "Love is Perfect" from 1 John. In the evening, Christian Young continues his series "Craftsmanship: Theology with a Blue Collar."

North Point Fellowship: Senior Pastor Paul Meldrum will speak on "Becoming a Maximum Impact Christ-Follower: Content But Not Complacent."

Peace Lutheran Church: The speaker will be Pastor Warren Ueckert. Text: John 6:51-69. Rally day (3 years-12th grade) and adult Bible study between services. All-Church Picnic at Foxglenn Park at 12:30 p.m.

Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church: Pastor Jonathan Stern will speak on "iPray...Keep us homesick!" We come to the last Petition of the Lord's Prayer, "Deliver us from evil." Children's devotion and PPP. Snacks and refreshments after the service in the school. Topics for Bible study: "The Names of God."

Unity of Flagstaff: Two community members will speak on "CommUnity musings and music." Lots of music with children's program and meditation included.

Crossroad Community Church: Pastor Dale Harryman will speak on "Down on our knees we learn how to stand." Hebrews 10. Sunday School available. Contemporary and traditional worship, and fellowship.

Living Christ Lutheran Church: The message will be Follow the Wisdom of Christ. Rev. Kara Joy Stewart will discuss John 6:51-58. All are welcome. Stay after worship for fellowship time and refreshments.

Center for Spiritual Living Flagstaff: Darlene Dunning will speak on "Law of Attraction."

First Congregational Church: Rev. Steven Davis will speak on "In Praise of Wisdom" based on Proverbs 9:1-6. Nursery care for children ages 5 and younger.

Heichal Baoranim: Rabbi Nina Perlmutter will lead Shabbat morning services today at the synagogue. This service will also be the Bar Mitzvah of Tom Brodersen.

Epiphany Episcopal Church: Along with the state of Arizona, the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany is celebrating its Centennial this year. Bishop Kirk Smith will celebrate Confirmation at our Centennial Service Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m. The anthem for that service is the premiere of a commissioned work by Epiphany's own Dr. Thomas Cleman called "In This Temple." 423 N. Christ's Church of Flagstaff: Pathway Christian Growth Classes Sunday, Aug. 26, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Classes for spiritual growth: Joining God's Family, Growing in Christ, Learning to Serve, Discovering My Life Mission, Creating a Spending Plan, and Prayer. Federated Community Church: A "Ministry Team Expo" will be held in Rees Hall between worship hours and following the 11 a.m. worship hour. Exhibits by various ministry teams will highlight the variety of opportunities for involvement in the life and work of the church. Church of the Resurrection: Pioneer Clubs -- this month we are registering children for this outstanding after-school program. Here, we teach children how to form healthy relationships and grow as whole persons embracing biblical values and positive attitudes. Register your child today by calling the office at 699-2715. We are also recruiting volunteers to help with this ministry.

Trinity Heights: Our Fall Sunday School session is about to begin. This Sunday will be a celebration and a time for kids to move up into their new classrooms. San Francisco de Asis Catholic Parish: Interested in becoming Catholic? Do you know somebody who might wish to become Catholic? The RCIA process is designed for adults who are either unbaptized or baptized in another faith and wish to become Catholic.
