Martha was born in Cottonwood, Arizona and spent her youth and much of her young adult life in Northern Arizona. She was a swimmer, ran track, played the flute and was the drum major for the Flagstaff High School marching band. Martha earned her degree in Hotel-Restaurant Management from NAU and used this education working in restaurants around Arizona. She settled in Sanger, California (suburb of Fresno) where she opened restaurant for her employer, The Hungry Hunter. Martha loved the outdoors, camping, water skiing and riding her motorcycle around the mountains of Central California. Friends and family knew Martha by a variety of affectionate nick-names; Gina, Marda, Buppy and Martha-May. Martha's hospitality was legendary among those who had the opportunity to stay in her home or share a meal. She was an incredible cook and always went out of her way to make certain people who came to her home felt welcome and comfortable. Martha lost her battled with colon cancer and passed away comfortably in her home in the presence of family. She will be missed.
