Howard Lape Born January 25, 1958, my beloved brother passed from this life on June 10, 2019. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in the towns of Westport and Washington, Connecticut, he attended The Gunnery and Arizona State University. He married Eliza Carr, and they set up residence in San Francisco, California. Their union produced a son, Chase Lape, who recently graduated from The University of California at San Diego with high honors. Sadly, this marriage ended in divorce. Jay was known to be prescient and an early proponent of the California wine boom, the bottled water phenomenon, the rise of artisanal teas, and most recently, was a connoisseur of Chinese herbs, teas, and essential oils. In his adult life, he lived on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu, Maui, and Kaui, in Tempe and Flagstaff, Arizona, in Studio City, California, Denver, Colorado, Sun Valley, Idaho, and southern Oregon. He was known for his delightful sense of humor, sharp skills at pickle ball, and love of animals. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please pour yourself a cup of a lovely tea and savor it slowly.
