When Man Man took to the stage this past weekend, it was following a series of technical difficulties that delayed the show's start by almost two hours.
Opener Rebecca Black was accompanied by recorded tracks on her laptop and a live drummer. She easily joked about her infamy with 2011's "Friday" while setting the record straight that she has moved far beyond that in both skill and confidence. Her set included original songs that displayed her wide vocal range and strong stage presence, as well as a No Doubt cover.
Technical difficulties continued through the beginning of Man Man's set, but the band pushed through, picking up steam by the time all microphones and monitors were working as they should. Members stepped into the crowd as they played trumpets, shook key rings and sang through a megaphone, closing out the wee hours of the morning with an energetic set that left those in attendance feeling lighter after a night of dancing.
